--- pauses of 800 ms are usually enough for seen gaps.
I used the
[:tone<1000,75>] tone to represent a second character.
In second episode there are 2 then 3 listers, so you use 0 beeps for the regular, 1 for the second, 2 for the third, etc.  this really starts to kick off in the next couple of seasons - and I think gaps will be needed as well as tones to tell multiples apart.
